In loving memory of ISABEL (MRS. A ) ASHTON, of Sarnia, who passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2006, in her 91st year at Bluewater Health Mitton Site, Sarnia. Beloved mother and best friend of Beverly Fitzpatrick and her husband Gary of Corunna and Carolyn Ashton of Sarnia, cherished grandmother and mentor of Chris & Karen, Kelly & Ronny, Jill & Kevin and Brett and Katie and loving and devoted great grandmother of Tyrel, Brianne and friend Darren, Bryn, Kourtlan, Konnor, Ashton, Keyvin, Coleson and Miranda. Dear sister of Myrtle Smith, Hazel Admans, Velma Smith and Millie Hanley and sister-in-law of Norma Ashton. Dearly loved by many special nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents John and Lillian Ashton, her brothers Cecil, Harvey and Clifford, sisters Grace Easom, Edna Fremlin, brothers-in-law Jack Robertson, Len Admans, Jack Smith, Don Hanely, Hoy Fremlin and Roy Easom and sisters-in-law Bessie and Annie Ashton. Born in Huron County, she was employed at Clinton Hosiery and Bartletts Bakery and then moved to Sarnia to work with Northumbria Fine Table Ware. She owned a variety store at Davis and Mackenzie Street for several years. She also operated a boarding house on Russell Street where she became close friends with many of her boarders. Funeral services will be held from ONTARIO STREET UNITED CHURCH in Clinton on Monday, January 9th at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Clinton Cemetery. Visitation at the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME, Sarnia on Sunday afternoon and evening from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. at the Ontario Street United Church, Clinton. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through djrobbfh@ebtech.net
