Anne Marie Hurst

Anne Marie Hurst (Houle), Born June 18th 1949 passed away peacefully in the early morning of September 26, 2017. She leaves the care of her babies Tigger and Simba to her husband Albert E. Hurst, daughter Bridgette Johnston (Hurst) and grand daughter Chelsea Johnston. Parents Mary Bridgett Houle, (Toms) and Joseph Alexander Houle she was raised in Port Lambton with her brothers JD (Colleen) Houle, George (Aileen) Houle, Edward (deceased)Houle, Alex (Sylvia) Houle, Stephen (Yvonne) Houle. Married 45 years ago, September 9th, she not only became a wife, but also a “Ma” to; Sue (Ross) Byron, Wendy (Jeff) Burton, Deborah (Ken) Slaughter, Heather (Bruce) Owen, Hope (Ralph) Duval and Jamie (Mavis) Hurst. Many nieces, nephews and cousins; grandbabies, great grandbabies and two times great grand babies that she loved more than she could ever express. After 43 years she retired from the LCBO, were she became the first female made fulltime and then store manager of Reeces Corner, Lakeshore and finally Point Edward. A member of the 403 Wing and Wingettes for many years, her Monday nights were spent playing darts and cards with her Ladies Sports League. She spent what became a short retirement making date squares, muffins and of course her canning. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother; most important she loved, and was loved. Visitation with family will be at D.J. Robb Funeral Home 102 N. Victoria St. Sarnia on Sunday, October 1, 2017 between 2-4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, October 2nd  at 11:00 a.m. in Port Lambton at Sacred Heart Church.
