Mrs. Armine Dennie, daughter of the late Constante and Midrease Sfreddo, was born August 6, 1936 in Dryden, Ontario. Armine attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Elementary School and Dryden High School. She completed her nursing training at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, graduating in 1957. She was a member of the St. Boniface Nursing Alumni. Armine was united in Holy Matrimony to Randall (Randy) Dennie in Dryden, May 1959. They were blessed with three daughters and to have shared 62 years of marriage. During the early years, Armine worked as an emergency nurse first in Dryden and later in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. In 1977, the family moved to Sarnia, Ontario and she continued nursing in the operating room at the Sarnia General Hospital, where she worked until her retirement in 1996. Armine had a good sense of humour, was a terrific cook and baker and enjoyed playing Bridge. She was a long-time member of the 1977 Welcome Wagon Bridge Group. She was also an active member of the St. Benedict’s Catholic Women’s League. After retirement, Armine and Randy travelled extensively throughout Europe, the US and Canada. In 1995 Armine was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. After battling this disease for over 25 years, she quietly departed this life on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her husband Randy; her daughters Linda (Joe) Gabriele, Rhonda (Jim) Alexander and Shannon (Lee) Misselbrook; her five granddaughters Kathryn, Lauryn, Claire, Nicole and Madeleine; her sisters Connie (Israel, deceased) Kleinberg and Linda (John) Chadwick and devoted niece, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to thank all the staff at Vision Nursing Home, especially those who cared for Armine in the Huron Crescent Unit. Donations to the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario through https://psso.ca may be made in Armine’s memory. A Funeral Mass and celebration of life will be held for Armine at a later date.
