SALIDAS, Beatrice Shirley (RAWSON), of Sarnia, on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, in her 90th year, passed away peacefully, having lived a full and rewarding life. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas “Nick” Salidas (1994), and mother of son Greg (1975). She was the caring mother of Connie Constable (Ralph), Ted Salidas, and Terry Lamberton (Tim), grandmother of Sarah Ferrier (Ron) and Meghan Bingham (Brandon), and great grandmother of Nicholas, Miles and Mackenzie. She is also survived by sister-in-law Evelyn Rawson, and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. A proud “hard oiler” from Petrolia, Bea was the youngest and last surviving sibling in a family of one sister and seven brothers. Family and friends knew her as an avid sports fan of tennis, golf, hockey, baseball, with curling her most beloved sport of all. She celebrated each win and suffered each loss. As her children, we always felt proud and fortunate that she was our mother. A special Thank You goes to Dr. Buckton and his staff, together with Dr. Maddison and the amazing staff and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia for their compassion and caring support of our mother and her family. A funeral service will be held at Grace United Church (990 Cathcart Blvd., Sarnia) on Friday, September 15 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin prior to the service at 10:00 am. A luncheon at the church will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the church or funeral home by cheque only please to St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia, Sarnia Humane Society for the Children’s Animal Farm, or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca
