Betty Anne Tyrie

Peacefully at Bluewater Health with her family by her side, on Thursday September 8, 2016 BETTY ANNE (FRASER) TYRIE age 80 years of Sarnia.  Loving mother of  Deborah Metcalfe of Vancouver, BC and Alan Tyrie and his wife Rita of Moose Jaw, Sask.  Cherished grandmother to Elizabeth, Michelle, Christopher, Christine, Michael, Douglas, Michael and several great-grandchildren.  Dear sister of Jack Fraser and his wife Shirley of Brigden, Sharron Case of Brights Grove and William Fraser and his wife Catherine of Sarnia.  Predeceased by her parents Robert and Yevette Fraser, her sons Larry Smith (2016) and Harold Jr. Smith and brothers Robert, Thomas, Donald and Garry Fraser.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Betty retired from the Sarnia General Hospital after 35 plus years of service, was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards at the Strangway Centre.  Betty also loved her country music and dancing at the singles dances.  She will always be remembered for her expertize and love of knitting and crocheting.   Resting at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE where the family will receive friends on Tuesday evening September 13th from the hours of 7 to 9 p.m.   A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday September 14th at 10:00 a.m. from St. Benedict’s R. C. Church, 1011 Oak Street, Sarnia with cremation to follow.  Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Ontario Diabetes Association,  Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit or St. Joseph’s Hospice.
