It is with great sadness that the family of Candy Lou, aged 58, announce her passing on April 8th, 2023, at Bluewater Health, following a brief illness.
Dearly loved sister of Patricia Greene (and family), Rod Derby, Rick Graham, Victoria McKinlay (and family) and special friend Louise Audette.
Candy is predeceased by her parents Greta and Rod Derby, sisters Vivian Salustro, Crystal Harrison and nephew Michael Greene.
Candy was kind, thoughtful, and generous without fail. She had a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed sharing her humour with anyone whose path she happened to cross. Candy was very much a part of her community and a strong self-advocate. Beginning in 1984, Candy worked for many years as a seamstress in the sewing department at Wawanosh. She also worked relief as a receptionist and with the Imperial Oil Grounds keeping crew and volunteered, for several years, at Vision Nursing Home. Candy enjoyed crocheting, completing dish clothes at an astonishing rate, often giving them away to family members, friends, and co-workers. Candy’s humour, generosity and kind spirit will be sorely missed.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Community Living Sarnia-Lambton for their care and support of Candy since 1984.
