Catherine Dawn Davidson
December 8th, 1928 – July 25th, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family announce the death of Dawn. She passed away at the age of 96, surrounded by family. Her strong belief and faith in God was an anchor throughout her life. She is survived by her loving children: Jim (Mary), Sandy (Dan) Daly, Brian (Joanne), Todd (Christina), Kelly (Tom) Vander Ploeg. Her beautiful grandchildren: Melinda (Pat), Steven, Patrick (Allie), Tyler (Lauren), Brittany (Andrew), Tatum, Dallas, Madeline (Matt), Aaron (Michelle), Lindy, Molly and Breanna. Gigi to Teah, Mavi and Arthur. And many more family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Norman, her parents Eric and Kay, and her Sister Phyllis. Mom was born and raised in Ottawa before marrying dad and moving to Sarnia to raise her family. She was the heart and soul of our family. She was the best of the best. Our home was the gathering place. She loved it when we would all have friends over. She would welcome everyone with open arms and a smile that let up her face. She was always busy especially baking, we loved her tea biscuits and cinnamon rolls. As a child she spent a lot of time in New Brunswick with her grandparents. She enjoyed some of her retirement years there before returning to Sarnia. We would like to thank Dr. Daniel and the staff at Bear Creek Lodge for their care over her last few days. Also, to Toni, her neighbour and friend for always checking in on her. A gathering in celebration of her life will be held at D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 Victoria Street North, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9) on Saturday, September 27th, 2025 between the hours of 2:00-4:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice www.stjosephshospice.ca or the charity of your choice.
