Charles Henry Moore

MOORE, Charles Henry - Peacefully at Bluewater Health on Thursday, February 23, 2017, Charles (Charlie) Henry Moore passed away at the age of 87. Charlie was born in Bayfield, Ontario on March 10, 1929. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie Moore (Charbonneau). He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Jane Moore (Ward) and dear sister Elsie Irene Moore. Survived by his special niece-in-law Sharon (George) Biggs, who Charlie cherished as a daughter, and with whom he shared so many happy memories. Also survived by his sister Ruth Anne Moore of London, special niece Leslie Anne Dobson (Mark) of Omemee, Ontario and by his brothers-in-law Jack(Rosalie), Bob(Joan) and Wilfred(Marilyn) Charbonneau. Charlie was an avid fisherman and boater all his life. He loved his winter fishing and camping trips to the Florida Keys, surrounded by friends and enjoying life. He sponsored the Moore Siding fastball team for many years, winning the 1980 All Ontario Intermediate AA championship. He was president of the Tomiko Hunt Club. Charlie ran the H. Moore & Son Siding Company for many, many years. Charlie will be missed by his special lifelong friends of 80 years, John Cullis and Captain Nate Smith, especially the Blackwell Gang and many, many others. He enjoyed nothing better than spending weekends at the farm, sitting and sipping on the porch with his best pals, Jan and Denise. A special thank you goes to Jan Allardyce for her invaluable care and friendship to Charlie over the past ten years. A gravesite committal service of ashes for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 3 at 2:00 pm at Resurrection Cemetery. A celebration of Charlie’s wonderful life will be held at a later date at the Blackwell Ponderosa. Thank you to the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre for their immeasurable compassion and support. Donations in Charlie’s memory to the Sarnia Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
