David Leslie Bartlett

1946 – 2020

We thought we had more time, but God had made a different plan. Peacefully, Dave passed away at Bluewater Health on January 9, 2020.  Dave was the husband and best friend of Karen Smith-Bartlett, father of Jason (Christa) Bartlett (Woodinville, WA), Shannon (Deborah) Bartlett (Sterling, KS), Tara Bartlett (London, ON), Cory Ross (Ottawa, ON), and Terry Ross.  Grandfather or Papa to eleven wonderful grandchildren, Nathanael, Genevieve, Ian, Malamie, Aaron, Allister, Evan, Elliot, Elizabeth, Ela, Kayla, and one more on the way.

He was predeceased by his parents Roy David (2017) and Loella (2014) Bartlett, his in-laws Robert (2015) and Mary (2004) Smith, and a cherished niece Amanda Joy (2017) Gingrich.

Dave was a kind and generous soul who never angered, but would love to discuss, debate, and dole out kernels of wisdom, always over a cup of coffee.  Dave was very generous with his time, especially behind the camera or on the computer or volunteering whenever asked, with the firm belief: what can I do to make this better. 

Retired from Imperial Oil after 39 years, Dave spent his time traveling with Karen, golfing with his golf buddies, curling with his teammates, and working around Bartlett Acres.

The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to those who have supported us, and to those who will continue to surround us with their love, prayers, and support as we make this journey without Dave, Dad, Grandpa, Papa.
