Edward Carl Forbes

FORBES, EDWARD CARL (1929 – 2020) - With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of Edward Carl Forbes on October 20, 2020, beloved husband of Jean Forbes and father to Karen Ramsay (predeceased by Ron), Jim Forbes (Ena), Linda Anderson (Mike), Ron Forbes, Sandra Clendenning (Bob). He was a faithful member of London Road United Church.  We extend a special thank you to the staff at Bluewater Health, St. Joseph Hospice and Vision Nursing Home for their care and compassion.

Edward was a man of many names, Ted to those who knew him, Teddy to his two sisters (Alene/Bill and Jean), Dad to five and Grandpa to eight (Paul, Christopher, Justin, Kevin, Tyler, Kristen, Parker and Megan)

Ted was also known as Akela to the many Cub Scouts who went through the Scout program at Devine St. United Church during his almost 40 years as a Cub Leader.  Ted and Jean enjoyed weekly square dancing with their many friends.

Handyman Ted was an avid repair man and tinkerer as his friends and family can attest.  Ted followed his father’s footsteps to Imperial Oil working as a welder and proudly retiring in 1986 after 36 years of service.  He was always ready to lend assistance when able, and most knew him to be a gentle man.

Dad shared his love of this country with his children by taking his family camping at every opportunity, and traveled to both coasts (and every shopping mall between) with camper and family in tow, and in later years by bus and cruise ship.

Cremation has taken place, and due to Covid-19 restrictions only a few invited guests will be welcomed to a private funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to your charity of choice and would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 102 N.
