Gloria Eileen McCormick

Peacefully on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Bluewater Health, Sarnia.  Gloria (nee Saunders) McCormick passed away at the age of 98.  Predeceased by husband J. Duncan McCormick (1985), son David (Deborah) McCormick (2018) and son-in-law Patrick Parrott (2005).  Loving mother to Cathryn McCormick and Mark (Nancy) McCormick.  Cherished grandmother to Matthew, Scott, Jennifer, Andrew and Rebekah.  Several great-grandchildren.  We will all miss her presence deeply.  Life-long resident of Sarnia, graduating from S. C. I. & T. S. in 1941.  Mom worked in the advertising dept. of the Sarnia Observer in the early 40’s where she met Dad.  Mom enjoyed travelling, especially to the U.K., gardening and reading.  She made it her duty to feed the neighbourhood birds & squirrels but cats were her favourite, feeding strays and adopting several over the years.  Thank you Betty Cunningham for being a wonderful friend to Mom for 80+ years.  Special thanks to Dr. Chris Greensmith and the nurses on MED G and Palliative Care for their gentle kindness and care.  At her request no visitation or service.  Cremation has taken place.  Memorial donations to the Sarnia & District Humane Society www.sarniahumanesociety.com or the charity of choice.  Arrangements entrusted to the D.
