MAURE, Godfrey Edward (Eddie)
Peacefully, at the age of 61, with his older brother (Joe) holding his hand, Eddie passed away at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, on August 24, 2025. Also present were his sister-in-law (Pat) and caregivers Jen, Stephanie, and Kelly.
Predeceased by his parents, Godfrey and Frances. Beloved brother of Margaret (Steve) Kelch, Mary Jo (Ron) Webber, Gerry (Claude) Therriault, Vickie Maure, Joe (Pat) Maure, and Clara (Jerry) Marcoux. Special uncle to many nieces & nephews. He will be greatly missed by his housemates Arthur, Debbie, & Stephen, and the fabulous staff of St. Francis Advocates, Port Franks, who loved him dearly.
Although he was nonverbal, Eddie was quite the character and had a way of communicating with his funny smile or a stubborn look (when he wasn’t getting his way), both of which gave lots of laughs to his family and friends. With the aid of his caregivers, he was fortunate to travel to NYC, Florida, & throughout Ontario and attended many concerts (he loved rock ‘n roll music, especially The Mudmen). He also LOVED chocolate, favourites include Aero bars, Reese cups, & chocolate milk.
Eddie’s family are eternally grateful for the loving care provided to him by all those who gave their all to give him his best life.
His funeral will take place at D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 102 Victoria St. North, Sarnia on Friday August 29, 2025 at 1 pm with visitation to be held prior to the service at 12 pm, and burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 1885 London Line, Sarnia.
Sympathy may be expressed through a donation to St. Francis Advocates, 7761 Alfred St., Port Franks, ON, N0M 2L0. Memories, messages of condolence or photographs may be shared through www.djrobb.on.ca.
