Jackie Ann Phair

April 15, 1942 — January 17, 2020

PHAIR, JACKIE - After a lengthy and courageous battle with Dementia, it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jackie Ann Phair (nee Murphy) at the age of 77 on Friday, January 17th, 2020.  At the time of her passing, Jackie was surrounded by her family, including the love of her life for more than 60 years, husband Jimmy and her daughters, Sheri, Kristy & Tammy

Jackie is survived by her loving husband Jimmy, her devoted daughters, Sheri (Dan), Kristy and Tammy (John).  Also survived by Sister-In-Law Jean Dobroski (Tom), Several Nieces & Nephews, and Granddaughters Katey Gordon and Sarah Balogh and Grandson Christopher Balogh.  She was predeceased by her Grandparents who raised her, Russell and Ada Benn, Father Jerome Murphy, Mother Doras Murphy, Sister Betty Holmes and Grandson Michael James Balogh and recently predeceased by her Nephew John Phair.

Jackie devoted more than 35 years of volunteer work to Bluewater Health for which she was very proud, serving on many units before working to become a Board Member of the Bluewater Health Auxiliary Board.  From an early age, Jackie developed a love of writing poetry and was a published author and award-winning poet.  Jackie had many talents besides being a devoted mother and published poet.  With her keen sense of business and love of country music, Jackie became Jimmy’s musical business partner, catapulting him from the early days of singing on the radio to performing on numerous stages throughout North America and finally negotiating Jimmy’s own Country Music Variety Television Show on CBC.

The family would like to thank Barb and Larry and all the residents of Sandy Lane Apartments who throughout Jackie’s illness assisted her each time she required it and did so with kindness, always preserving her dignity.  We’d also like to thank the entire nursing staff of Bluewater Health for their kindness and excellent care of Jackie.  To the paramedics who brought Jackie in and the Emergency Room nurses and doctors who cared for her, thank you.  The family extends a very special thank you to Dr. Wm. O’Mahony for his more than 40 years of dedication and care to Jackie and her family. Finally, we’d like to acknowledge and thank the entire Palliative Care Team, in particular Jackie’s nurses, Courtney, Alex, Dani, Kaylee, Charge Nurse Jan and Dr. Greensmith for their amazing care, compassion and professionalism.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N.
