Jean Struthers

STRUTHERS, JEAN – At Bluewater Health on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, Jean Struthers, of Sarnia passed away in her 96th year. She was the loving wife of the late John Struthers (1982), dear mother of David (Lisa Evers), Cyntha (Don McLeish), Bruce (Karen), Arlene (Ron LaPier) and proud Grandma Jean of William, Kenzie, Aidan and Heather. Jean was a proud graduate of Alma College in St. Thomas and a long time adherent of St. Paul’s United Church in Sarnia. She was also predeceased (2017) by her “third son” Ronnie Rivait. Cyntha, Bruce and Arlene especially wish to thank their brother David for taking such loving care of their mom for the last 16 years and for also making it possible for Jean to always live in her own home. The family wishes to thank Jean’s many caregivers from Care Partners especially Miriam, Jana, and Lydia, as well as her “granny sitters” Brenda, Esmine, and Marie. A very special thank you goes to the nurses Erin and Lauren who helped Jean and her family during Jean’s final days. Friends may visit with the family at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Sunday, October 22nd, 2017 from noon until the service begins at 1:00 pm.  Private interment has taken place earlier at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Sarnia-Lambton Chapter (www.kidney.ca/Sarnia), Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca) or The Sarnia and District Humane Society (http://www.sarniahumanesociety.com/) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
