Jerome Bernard Smith

On November 26, 2025 Jerome Bernard Smith passed away at the age of 98½ years. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Thelma (Medd) Smith (2007). Father of Paul, Terry, Mark and the late Brian and their respective families. He is survived by brother Bimbo and sister Aud. Predeceased by brothers Bud and Coonie and a sister Tiny. A lifelong welder and fabricator, Jerome worked at many construction sites and fabricating shops around Ontario. In 1962 he joined U.A. Local 663 Plumbers, Pipefitters and Welders and remained a lifelong member. Earlier in his welding career Jerome worked in Clinton, ON fabricating torpedoes for the Canadian Navy. He also was a pipeline welder with the TransCanada and Trans Mountain Pipelines.  Jerome was an avid fisherman, rod maker, fly tyer and had many friends within the sport and hobby.  Cremation has taken place with inurnment to follow in the summer of 2026 at Maitland Cemetery in Goderich, Ontario.
