Joan Corine George

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of JOAN CORINE (GRANT) GEORGE at C.E.E. Hospital in Petrolia on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at the age of 77.  Beloved wife of the late Ronald Wilmore George (2011) of Sarnia.  Dear mother of Ron George and his wife Julie, Pam Christianson and her husband Bob, Penny Chalmers and her husband Brad and Mary Ann LaPointe and her husband Mike all of Sarnia and Sandy VanderMeulen and her husband Stan of London.  Loving grandmother of Tammy (Keith), Tanya (Ryan), April (Mark), Jason (Karrie), Mitchell (Hope), Samantha (Scott), Megan (Dan), Holly, Mandy (Jason), Taryn, Nathan and Brody.  Great-grandmother of Hunter, Ryder, Braedyn, Abigail, Madison, Robin, Chloe, Harper, Noah, Parker, Christopher, Lauren and Matthew.  Dearly loved sister of Pat Warby, brother Jim Robbins (Bev), brother-in-law Charles Birkinshaw and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by parents James and Mildred Robbins, sister June Birkinshaw, brother William Grant and brother-in-law Edward Warby.  Joan was a member of the 1956 Sarnia Imperial Women’s Championship Softball Team which was inducted into the Sarnia Sports Hall of Fame in 1992.  Cremation has taken place.  Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.  Arrangements entrusted to the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE.
