John "Ted" Cole

John “Ted” Cole passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of Gayle (née Butler) for 56 years and the proud, loving father of Dawn (Corey) Brooking, David (Sheri) Cole, April Carter-Stoner, Kimberly (Paul) Ferguson, and Amber (Andrew) Barber.

Ted was a loving grandfather to Kelsey, Brandon, Jenna, Erin, Alexander, Jessie, Zoey, Elijah, Allen, Alec, Anthony, and Alyssa, and a cherished great-grandfather to four. He is survived by his sisters, Barb Newton, Vivian (Mike) Besonen, and Virginia Cole. He was predeceased by his brothers, Allan (Betty) Cole, Bob (Gretch) Cole, and James Cole, and his sister, Marilyn Cole. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his lifelong best friend, Jurgen Kuhwald.

A gathering in celebration of Ted’s life will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 102 N. Victoria Street, Sarnia, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
