Judith Anne Perry

July 19, 1953 — April 25, 2025

Sarnia

Peacefully, on April 25th, 2025 at Bluewater Health, with her loved ones by her side.

Judy was predeceased by her father Malcolm Thomson, mother Viola (née Piercy), sister Barbara MacDonald, nephew Michael MacDonald, and former partner Thomas Perry.

Left to grieve are her son Jeff (Amanda); daughters Jaime Ciatti (Anthony) and Andrea Hunt (Keith); and granddaughters Maisie Perry and Ella Hunt. She will also be remembered by her brother-in-law David MacDonald, sister-in-law Monique Adams, nieces Laura Pickering and Dayna Westerman; and nephew John Perry. Judy made a lasting impression on many friends near and far, including special friend Bob McLaughlin.

Judy was born and raised in Brampton, where she made several lifelong friends. She attended Waterloo Lutheran University (now Wilfrid Laurier University), and during this time met Tom, with whom she would later have three beautiful children. After a memorable six-month sojourn in Europe, Tom and Judy married in Tom’s hometown of Point Edward and started their family there.

Judy worked a variety of jobs before becoming a driving instructor at Ski’s Driving School. After taking a break to raise her children, she returned to Ski’s, where she stayed until her retirement in 2018.

She pursued several hobbies and social activities, where she inevitably made new friends. Highlights of her later years included becoming a Red Hatter, frequenting Aquafit at the YMCA, attending CineSarnia films, and going on day trips with the Strangway Centre. Judy was an avid cook who loved swimming, summertime, and horses, and she was never without a cat—or three—throughout her life.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kim and the Palliative Care staff at Bluewater Health for their kind, compassionate care of Judy in her final days.

As per Judy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Please join us on Sunday July 20th, 12:30pm-3:30pm at GRIND kitchen + bar (265 Front St N, Sarnia, ON) as we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Judy Perry. This will be an informal, open house event; please come as you are, stay as long or as little as you like, and help us honour Judy’s memory with stories, laughter, and love. Light appetizers will be served. Cash bar.
