Laverne (Verne) McKinlay

With heavy hearts we sadly announce that Monday October 15, 2012 at the age of 66, LAVERNE (VERNE) McKINLAY took off his hat for the last time. When he wasn't enjoying the waterfront or attending local hockey games he was probably helping somebody with something. Horribly missed by his children Chris, Vikki, Corey and Sheri. Beloved grandpa of Nicholas, Connor, Molly, Riley, Camryn and Heather. Special uncle to Wayne and Lori. Fondly remembered by ex-wife Candy and her husband Greg. Survived by brothers Russ (Colleen), Floyd, Dave, Don and many nieces and nephews. Will also be missed by dear friend Janet. Predeceased by his mother Christina, father Roy, stepfather Charlie, brother John and sisters Evelyn, Kaye, Ida and Eva as well as fiancee Nel. Resting at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE where services will be held on Saturday October 20th at 1:00 pm. with cremation to follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 7 to 9 pm.
