Marion Jenken

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marion Jenken (née Mapletoft) on May 13th, 2025, at the age of 89.

Marion was born on May 1st, 1936, in Sarnia, Ontario, to John Edward “Ed” Mapletoft and Mary Francis Mapletoft. She lived a full and vibrant life, devoted to her family, her community, and those she loved most.

Marion was first married to the late Roderick Gibson, with whom she raised two beloved children, Michael (Jerri) Gibson of Dorchester, ON and Michelle (Bruce) Tucker of Phoenix, AZ. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Chris Gibson, Nic Gibson and Lauren Tucker. Later in life, she found love again and married Howard Jenken, gaining a stepdaughter, Shelly (John) Vandenberge, of Sarnia, ON, whom she welcomed into her heart with warmth and kindness.

Marion will be remembered for her generous spirit, her unwavering support of her family, and her quiet strength. She was a woman of grace, deeply committed to those around her, and her legacy lives on through the family she so dearly cherished.

A visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 29th at 2:00 p.m. at D.J. Robb Funeral Home, 102 Victoria Street N., Sarnia, Ontario. A reception will follow to share memories and celebrate Marion’s life.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Vision Nursing Home for the compassionate and devoted care Marion received over the past three years.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
