Marion Fern Simpson

It is with great sadness we the family of Marion Fern Simpson (nee Howe) in her 99th year announces her passing on Thursday September 24, 2026. Born in Port Rowan, Ontario, July 26, 1928, she was the beloved wife of the late Herbert Thomas Simpson (2002). Predeceased by her loving parents Arthur Alexander Howe (1997) and Alice Fern Howe (nee Moore) (1994) of Port Rowan, ON. Cherished mother of the late Robert Simpson (2021) of Sarnia; John Simpson (Sharon) of Baldwin, ON and Jane Courtemanche (Guy) of Point Edward, ON.

Treasured Nana to Eric (Jessica), Sarah (Shane) and Jessica (Jayden) Simpson, Thomas (Linda), Michael (Amanda) and Christopher Courtemanche, and great grandmother (Nana) to Aria, Everly, Jack, Michelle and Hunter. Much loved sister of the late Kathleen Hunter (Lorne) of Port Rowan, sister-in-law of the late Marjorie Evans (Ralph) and the late Teresa Simpson (George) of London, ON. Dear stepmother to Sharon Freele and Susan Gallagher and a dear step grandmother to Laurie, Ingrid, Peter, Steven, Shawn and Jamie.

Marion was a proud member of St. George’s Anglican Church, Sarnia, where she devoted many years as the church secretary. She was a long-standing member of the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club where she made many lifelong friendships, and she would always share her fond memories of achieving two of her three hole-in ones. Way to go Nana!

One of her favorite places in the world was her front porch on Roosevelt Drive. She would wave and greet all the neighbours and folks who were just passing by and loved to have a chat with all. Our mother was the heart of our home, whether she was sitting on her porch or baking one of her famous pies or spending time with friends and family, we all have wonderful memories of her.

The family would like to thank the staff of Vision Nursing Home for all their kindness and support over the last few years; we greatly appreciated the love and care you gave our mother.

Relatives and friends will be received at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Sunday, October 11, 2026 for visitation beginning at 1:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Marion's life life at 2:00 pm.
