Marjorie McKay passed away surrounded by love on Oct. 12, 2025. Marjorie Sands was born in Detroit, Michigan, on April 13, 1936 and met her future husband, Jack McKay of Wyoming, Ontario when she was only 4 years old. With summer cottages beside each other, their 85 year friendship led to a 67 year marriage, and three loving children. Marjorie's outgoing and fun nature was only matched by her generosity and devotion to family, friends and volunteer work. She taught family studies at St. David's High School in Waterloo for decades before retiring in Sarnia. There was never a dull moment when Marjorie was around. She and Jack travelled extensively, often with their children and grandchildren, and she was always looking for her next adventure. She will be forever remembered for her practical jokes, loving concern for others, and optimism. She will be forever in the hearts of her husband, Jack McKay, children: Bonnie Harmer (Midland, MI) and Scott (and his wife Theresa of Burtchville MI), grandchildren: Lance & Kaely Harmer, Lauren and Ian McKay; and sister Dorothy (Hawkins) of Greenville, SC). Sadly, she was predeceased by her daughter Laurie (Grau); and son-in-law Rob (Harmer). A funeral service will be held at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St. Sarnia, ON N7T 5W9 www.djrobb.on.ca ) on Saturday October 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
