It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Norine Barr, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Norine peacefully departed this world on June 29, 2026, just shy of her 86th birthday, surrounded by her loving family at Vision Nursing Home.
Her life, marked by warmth, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to family, will forever be remembered and celebrated by those who knew her. If you ever met Norine, you would not forget her!
Norine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories, and her siblings by marriage: Judy Bandura, Frank Bandura, Ray Taglietti, and Rick Jones. She was also preceded in death by her parents John and Margaret Jones, and parents-in-law, Don and Edith Barr,
Norine is survived by a loving family who will continue to honour her legacy: her daughter Carol (Bob Momney), her son Dave (Terri Barr), her grandchildren Adam (Laura Teschke), Lyndsay Momney, and Chris Dagg, and her cherished great-grandchildren Ryan, Sutton, and Leyton Teschke. She will also be dearly missed by her sister Marge Taglietti, her brother Glyn Jones and sisters-in-law Judy Jones, Judith Barr, and Linda Jones.
A lifelong resident of Point Edward, Norine, alongside her husband Paul, was a proud co-owner of Barr Jewellers in downtown Sarnia. Their store was a beacon of elegance and warmth, reflecting the personal touch and dedication that Norine brought to everything she did. Together, Norine and Paul created a welcoming atmosphere that left an indelible mark on the community. Their winters spent at Treasure Island were filled with laughter and companionship, surrounded by family and friends who became a second family.
Norine's love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was boundless, and she took immense joy in their accomplishments, always their proudest advocate. Her "office" was a place of camaraderie and fun—many an evening was spent playing bingo alongside her dear friends, Jan and her "best buddy," Faye.
The family would also like to express their gratitude for the exceptional and loving care mom received at Vision Nursing home for the brief time she was there.
The family takes comfort in knowing that Norine is reunited with Paul and her loved ones, watching over us with the same love and care she showed throughout her life.
As per Norine's wishes, cremation has already taken place. A celebration of life to honour Norine will be held at a later date. Details will be shared when available. If desired, in lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Inn of the Good Shepherd through https://www.theinnsarnia.ca/
The arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9). Memories and messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca
