Patricia Frances Neilson

Though these words will fall short of expressing the sorrow in our hearts, we must share news regarding the passing of Patricia Frances (Cary) Neilson, or simply Pat to those who knew her well; and Mom and Grandma to those who knew her best. She passed away at Bluewater Health Sarnia with family by her side on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025, at 83 years old. She was deeply loved by her late husband, Kenneth Robert Neilson (2019), her two daughters, Mary (Alberto) and Patti, and her two granddaughters, Sarah and Sadie Lang. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy, and her brother Floyd, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Mary and Albert, and her siblings: Keith, Howard, Roy, Urban, Shirley, June, Marion, and Linda.

Mom was all about family. She was a giver, it didn’t matter how little she had, she would find a way to help if she could. She worked hard but also had fun times and lots of laughs. Mom enjoyed the simple things like going for walks on a sunny day, sitting by the water or relaxing on the front porch with her cup of tea. She had been involved in women’s sports for many years, playing baseball and volleyball. She loved to watch her Yankees play, her favourite team. And you could hear her yelling at the players on TV, telling them how to play. She was a competitive and spunky soul with a soft side. In the evenings, mom would read her Bible and pray. Her faith was a big part of who she was. She looked forward to meeting Jesus and reuniting with Kenny, her husband of over 50 years. We are so sad to see her leave us, heaven has gained a special little lady. Mom will be missed so much every day and always lovingly remembered, especially by her daughters, granddaughters and furry friend, Mr. Kitty.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9). A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on a later date.
