Reta Velma Reece

July 10, 1929 — November 13, 2020

REECE, RETA - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of  Reta Velma Reece (July 10 1929 -November 13th 2020) who died peacefully at home with her family by her side after a brief illness with cancer. Reta was born in Clarendon Quebec to parents Gilbert Tubman and Hazel Tubman (nee Harris). She was raised in Christian Valley Ontario and later South Porcupine Ontario before moving to Sarnia in 1947 where she commenced her early career as a Hairstylist. In 1948 she met and married her husband Earl Reece and together they raised three children in Sarnia during her long career as a Homemaker from which she never retired. Earl and Reta enjoyed 72 years of marriage and were very active in All Saints (St. George’s) Anglican Church.  In addition to her husband she is survived by sons Philip, Paul (Debbie) and her grandchildren Meghan Reece Heritage (John), Sarah (fiancé Danike) and Adam. She also is survived by great grandchildren Jack Heritage and Henry Heritage.  She was predeceased by her son Gary as well as her parents and siblings Lela Daub, Irvin Tubman, and Bernice Howells. Due to COVID 19 there will be no funeral home or graveside visitation. A private family graveside service and interment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery with Rev. Steve Harnadek officiating.  In keeping with Reta’s and her family’s wishes we ask that those who wish to honour her life do so by making a donation to a charity of their choice or by doing an act of kindness for someone else. Arrangements are entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9). Memories and messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca
