Rodney “Rod” Wellington

1954 – 2026

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Rodney Arnold Wellington at the age 71 at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care on June 10, 2026. Loving brother of Robin and Darcy. Treasured uncle of Kyle, Tara, Daina (Kent McDonald), Tamerra (Tyler Moir) and their families.

Forever remembered and missed by his longtime friends Sheri, Jenny, Brian, Doug and Lenny. Predeceased by his parents Vivian (2024) and Bert Wellington (2009), brother Terry Wellington (2023) and sister-in-law Julie Smith (2024).

Rod was a quiet, kind and gentle man, with a generous heart, he was always ready to lend a helping hand. His passion was working on restoring his 1973 corvette, cheering for his favorite teams, Pittsburgh Steelers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Tigers. He also enjoyed collecting coins and hockey cards.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. McCreeny, Dr. Haddad and the ICU nurses, Dr MacSweeney and the Palliative Care nurses for their compassionate care and support of Rod. Cremation has taken place, arrangement entrusted to D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. There will be no services held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
