Webber, Ronald John

October 28, 1949 - September 19, 2025

Ron passed peacefully, at the age of 75, after being admitted to St. Joseph's Hospice a week ago. He is survived by his loving family - wife, Mary Jo (Maure) Webber (together almost 61 years, married 56 years); daughter, Aliceyn Fokuhl; son, Wilson Webber; daughter, Judy (Jean) Lacroix; grandchildren, Mathieu Lacroix, Rachelle Lacroix, Chloe Webber, & Luc Lacroix; brother Doug Webber, many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph Webber & Kathleen (Kitty) Wilson; daughter-in-law, Tina Cortez, his brother, George Webber; sister-in-law, Myrra Webber; and brother-in-law, Godfrey (Eddie) Maure.

Ron was a passionate musician who loved to sing and taught himself how to play all the instruments he could get a hold of, but his instrument of choice was the bass guitar. He even made his own fretless bass with Don Carter, that he named The Carber (a combination of their last names). He played in many local bands over the years, including Joan Spalding, Tom Lockwood, Brad Preston, and Texas Gate (with Jack Dowell, Mark Randall/Jack MacLean, and Dave Borne - may he rest in peace/Tony Bandoni). He was also a Jack of all trades, able to do home repairs & renovations, auto repairs, fixed leaks in & made blanket insulation for chemical plants locally and throughout Ont. & Que., worked in sales, co-owned a business, among many others. But, his love for music always drew him back so he was heartbroken when some of his many health issues (hearing loss, tinnitus, and loss of strength, dexterity, & feeling in his hands) stole his ability to sing and play.

His family would like to thank Dr. MacSweeney, the staff at Blue Water Health emergency & palliative care units, and the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice for their kindness to us and the compassionate care they provided for Ron. You made his final days comfortable and helped to fill them with love & laughter. And, he was as grateful for your attentiveness as we are, expressing his gratitude many times throughout his stay in each location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph's Hospice www.stjosephshospice.ca

Per his request he will be cremated and there will be no visitation or funeral; however, a celebration of life will take place at a later date. His final arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff at D. J. Robb Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 102 Victoria St. North, Sarnia, N7T 5W9.
