Ronald Henry Sayers

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Henry Sayers, who passed away peacefully at the Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia, Ontario on August 3rd, 2026. Ron is survived by his sisters, Yvonne Fraser (Norm deceased 2021) and Eileen Baggs (Doug) as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Colleen Margaret (Leckie) Sayers and his parents, Wallace James Sayers and Clara Myrtle (Ripley) Sayers, his siblings Pauline Mondoux (Tony), Evelyn Nichols (Malcolm), Marie Sutton (Keith), Francis Showers (Bob), Walter Sayers (Janet), Raymond Sayers, Carrie-Mae Sayers.

Ron was born in Sarnia Township on February 18th, 1935. He attended Sarnia Collegiate Institute and Technical School (SCITS). He went on with his studies and obtained his Stationary Engineer Certificate. He worked on the CN Rail, Sarnia General Hospital, Imperial Oil, and for many years at Shell Oil in Sarnia.

Ron approached life with enthusiasm and determination. He overcame many challenges in his life. He loved meeting new people and had many interests and hobbies, including baseball, sailing and aviation. For many years he owned an airplane and was a member of the local flying club.

A service will be held at DJ Robb Funeral Home, 102 Victoria Street North in Sarnia on Friday August 14th, 2026. Visitation will begin at noon and followed by the Service at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at DJ Robb Funeral Home- officiated by Rev: Adam Kilner. A reception will follow directly after the service. The Interment will take place at 3:00 pm at Lakeview Cemetery.
