We say goodbye to a person who is loved by everyone who she met.
It is with deep sadness that Wendy Lynn Wright (née Fisher), age 71, has passed away in her own home, in her own bed, on her own terms with her husband Glen by her side after a long battle with dementia and related injuries. Predeceased by her parents Howard and Dorothy Fisher, and sister Karen Robson.
Wendy’s family was everything to her.
Wendy leaves her husband Glen Wright married 52 years plus being high school sweethearts. Wendy’s leaves two sons, Corey Wright and wife Michelle, with grandchildren Cailyn and Gavin and Kevin Wright, with grandchild Xander. Wendy also leaves her brother Paul Fisher who has been by her side throughout this ordeal. She also will miss her sister-in-law Susan Carnegie and her husband David, and with niece Kelly husband Mark and nephew Jeffery and wife Caren along with several nieces and nephews. She will miss our cousins in England who she and Glen travelled with extensively throughout Europe and North America.
Wendy worked for Scotiabank, Northgate branch, as a personal banking officer for 38 years.
Wendy also enjoyed luncheons with the Scotia Retirees group from the branch.
Wendy liked to travel, read, crossword puzzles, crochet, baking and of course shopping. On Island trips she enjoyed snorkeling, beach walks and of course the swim up bar.
Early life Wendy enjoyed and taught accordion, played softball and volleyball, went camping and went with family to the cottage at Ipperwash,
Wendy was married to Glen for 52 years plus being high school sweethearts. Wendy and Glen got their vows re-done on their 25th anniversary in the Bahamas’ which she very much cherished.
Some of Wendy’s precious moments were spent with her closest childhood friend Carol (Smith) Robinson. Wendy also enjoyed being and traveling with her friends, Mimi and Brian Aelterman, Tom and Joanne Clarke, Will and Elaine Barnes. She also enjoyed travelling to the Caribbean for many years with Ed and Joan Norris and her Caribbean friends from London Ontario, and many more acquaintances Locally.
Wendy loved to travel and with husband Glen and have been many places like Europe, North America, Caribbean, Mexico, several cruises Disney World (several times), so she leaves with ……no regrets.
Wendy always reminded people to “Travel and enjoy yourselves before it’s too late”
On behalf of Wendy and myself, I would like to thank Bluewater Health, nursing staff, London bldg, 4th floor, for all their kindness and understanding during Wendy’s stay. I would also like to thank the Palliative care staff for their help. A special thank you goes out to the Health at Home organization for obtaining wonderful and kind VON PSW’s during our time of need and Care Partners, Rosalind Vrkljan. I never ever imagined how insipensible these organizations are so, Thank you.
